A large piece of bamboo cane is placed behind his knees; this is trampled upon by two men, one standing on each end, and who convey more or less pain, as they approach to, or recede from, his person. A punishment, decreed against interpreters, detected of wilful misinterpretation.

PUNITION D'UN INTERPRÈTE.
On place derrière les genoux du coupable, une grande morceau de bambou, qui est foulé aux pieds par deux hommes, placés debout aux
deux extrémités, et qui lui causent plus ou moms de douleur, selon qu'ils approchent, ou s'éloignent, de sa personne. Cette punition a lieu pour les interprètes, convaincus de mauvaise interprétation, faite de propos délibéré.
