Particulars: This is a chart about the Chinese beating with heavy bamboo stick. The criminal who committed a crime punishablle with bamboo lies o the floor and unwear his trousers, a man sits on his back, the other on his upper thighs, and he receives 60, 80 or 100 blows of a rough unpolished bamboo stick that make blood flow from his breeches on the ground.

    Information: Two slightly different model in the representation of beating with bamboo. The Chinese watercolor, even made for exportation, are more faithful to reality than the 3rd picture, reworked by the British engraver Dadley, who prudishly slipped a trouser on the convict's legs!
