    Title: Burning eyes with lime
Information: This bizarre torture only appears in Mason's book, later copied by Malpière. It is attested in no other Chinese or Western books or images, and is therefore highly dubious. Unlikelyhood reaches a climax when Malpière writes that this treatment was reserved to convicts enslaved to Bannermen — to blind one's slave would be even more stupid than cruel!
