Description: This is the photograph of the author of a collection of snapshots showing Chinese executions, with comments. Although this collection, and this photographic portrait, are inserted in the album signed by François Lemasle, medical officer, there is a doubt about the portraited man's identity, as his dress is of a Musician (see the Horn on his sleeve), not of a medical doctor. The comments of the lingchi snapshots inform us that the photographers of Fu-zhu-li's execution by lingchi were Marine band players, based in Tianjin, come to Beijing for Archbishop Favier's burial.
