Biographical_Information: Giuseppe Messerotti Benvenuti was born the 18 October 1870 in Modena (Italy) by a wealthy family. He started his studies on medicine at Modena University the 6 July 1895, the same year he was called to the army and began his career as doctor-tenant, in duty at Florence Military Health School.
After graduating he continued his career at the Military Hospital of Turin, when he was called to participate to the Chinese expedition, which took place from 4 January 1900 to 12 September 1901.
Later he worked in Turin, Libya and Piacenza, but he was obliged to many periods of rest because of illness, so he ended his career as colonel in 1922, as his photographer's activity, which had started around 1890.
He died in Modena the 31 December 1935.
